Interview to open the Small Business SHAPING THE BIG SOCIETY virtual summit

Carol Sherriff, director of Wilson Sherriff, talked to the Business Secretary, the Rt Hon Dr Vince Cable MP about the new government initiatives to help small businesses grow and export.

Carol asked the Business Secretary questions that participants in the Small Business SHAPING THE BIG SOCIETY virtual summit wanted answered. These included what is the government doing to support growth in small businesses? What can the government do to make sure that banks are prepared to finance growth in small businesses? How can the problem of late payments to small firms be addressed?

The Business Secretary explained the government's approach encouraging small businesses to export into the growing economies. He outlined what he saw as a new approach by banks and what small firms could do to tackle late payments.
