Riders on the Storm Virtual Learning Set

Wilson Sherriff launches the first ever Riders on the Storm Virtual Learning Set starting in June 2011

Building on the success of the Riders on the Storm International Summit held in March this year, Carol Sherriff and Simon Wilson of Wilson Sherriff have launched the first ever Riders on the Storm Virtual Learning Set starting on June 13.  2011.

This innovative personal and professional development event builds on many of the benefits of the Riders on the Storm International Summit:

  • Facilitators, coaches and consultants can get involved at a time and place to suit them
  • There will be expert input and an international audience to broaden knowledge and perspective
  • it will cover the storms facilitators, coaches and consultants face as a person, a professional and in business or practice.

There is one key difference - the virtual learning set focuses directly on participant's needs. It is based on the model of an action learning set in which participants agree to work on issues and events that are current challenges for them. This virtual learning set will make use of podcasts, ebooks and teleconferences to enable participants to work on their issues when and where they want.

Carol Sherriff, director of Wilson Sherriff said: "Facilitators, coaches and consultants have to be 'Riders on the Storm'. They get called in to organisations when things are challenging or changes need to be made. They need to be able to help their clients ride their organisational storms. They also need to be able to act professionally whatever the storms going on in their business or personal life."

"They have told us that they really benefit from the opportunity to discuss and work on these different storms with colleagues from all round the world. So we are absolutely delight to be able to organise this Virtual Learning Set to help facilitators, coaches and consultants ride their storms. We will be using some new technologies such as ebooks, podcasts and online conferencing tools to make sure people can participate when are where they like. We will also be using some old fashion technology such as telephone to make sure people get customised and personal advice."
