Research that makes a difference

Our recent research projects include:

• A six-month consultation and engagement research project to refresh the Common Core of Skills for the children and young people’s workforce. This involved an online questionnaire, focus groups with the public and professionals, stakeholder engagement workshops, one to one interviews, and desk research.
• A three-month evaluation of patients’ views on what should be involved in setting up a patient advisory group. This involved focus groups, telephone interviews and desk research.
• A jointly-created project that involved social workers in the design of a new professional development programme. We organised and facilitated three rounds of focus groups in 45 organisations and local authorities.

Other projects include research involving children and young people with disabilities, parents and other family members, professionals such as teachers and social workers, and employers in the private and community sector.

Our team

Our research team is headed by Carol Sherriff and includes researchers with backgrounds in social research and market research. All our facilitators, moderators and interviewers are trained by us and abide by the ethical code of the International Association of Facilitators and the principles of the International Association for Public Participation.

Time and budget

We understand the importance of meeting deadlines and financial targets. We design efficient projects which are excellent value for money and then monitor our projects closely to ensure they remain on target. View Research Report
